What Connecton collects, in plain language

Last updated November 4, 2026

This website

The landing page counts visits, nothing more. It records anonymous events:

  • that the page was opened, and from which site or campaign link the visitor came
  • whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer, and whether it is an iPhone or Android
  • which buttons were pressed, how far down the page was scrolled, which question was opened, and whether the video played

It uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. Each visit gets a random number that exists only while the page is open; it is added to the sign-up link so we can tell how many visits turn into sign-ups. It identifies nobody. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, nothing is recorded. The events are processed by PostHog, an analytics service, which is set not to keep visitors’ IP addresses or to work out where they are.

The Connecton app

When you sign up, the app keeps:

  • your email address and a password (handled by Supabase, the service that runs sign-in and the database)
  • what you add: the people in your city, their house, how you know them, profile details, how often you want to stay in touch, and your notes
  • your time zone (reminders arrive around noon there), and a push notification address for your device if you turn reminders on

Your city and notes belong to your account. Other users cannot see them.

Message drafts

When you open someone, or press the draft button, that person’s name, how you know them, their age (worked out from the birthday, which is not sent), nationalities, your recent notes about them and simple facts such as how long it has been since you last wrote are sent to Google’s Gemini, which writes the draft. Nothing is sent for people you have not opened.

How the app is used

To learn whether people come back and find it useful, the app records simple events such as “signed up”, “added a person”, “logged a note” and “opened the app”, and the campaign link you arrived from. These events never contain names, notes, email addresses or anything you typed. They are tied to an anonymous account number, not to who you are.

  • We don’t read your notes to build a profile of you.
